USFSA Learn to Skate Basic Skills Program

The Lexington Ice Center facilitates the "Learn To Skate" Basic Skills Program.  The sessions usually run every eight weeks.  You will need to pick up a schedule at the rink to see when the next session begins.

This program consists of a comprehensive lesson/test structure that is exciting, rewarding, safe and fun.  It has proven to be an overwhelming success across the United States.  Whether your goal is to achieve Olympic fame or simply enjoy the recreational benefits of skating, the Basic Skills program is a great place to start.

The curriculum consists of Snowplow Sam, Basic Eights, Hockey, Adult, Freeskate, Dance, Synchronized, Pairs and Artistry in Motion. Within no time, you will be gliding effortlessly across the ice.

The Basic Skills program was developed by U.S. Figure Skating, the national, governing body of skating on ice in the United States and is approved by the Professional Skaters Association, which is recognized as the authority in coaching education and certification.
